The Everest Base Camp Short Trek is designed for travelers who want the full Everest experience in a shorter timeframe. This 14-day adventure includes 12 days of trekking and covers approximately 123 km (76 miles) through Nepal’s legendary Khumbu region. Beginning and ending in Lukla, the trek is rated moderate to challenging and is achievable for active beginners with a good level of fitness.

The journey takes you through the heart of Sagarmatha National Park, following the scenic Dudh Koshi Valley into the high Himalayas. Along the way, you’ll pass through traditional Sherpa villages where Buddhist culture and mountain traditions remain deeply rooted in everyday life. Each day offers changing landscapes, from lush pine forests and suspension bridges to rugged alpine terrain and glaciers near Everest Base Camp.

One of the trek’s unforgettable highlights is the thrilling mountain flight into Lukla, often considered one of the most scenic flights in the world. Accommodations throughout the trek are in traditional Himalayan teahouses, providing simple, comfortable lodging and hearty local meals.

The trek reaches its highest point at Kala Patthar (5,545m), where you’ll witness breathtaking sunrise views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Everest Base Camp itself sits at 5,364m, offering an incredible opportunity to stand at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain.

All necessary permits, including Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permits, are included in the package. The best seasons for trekking are March through May and September through November, although the route can be completed year-round with proper preparation.
